All About Magnets

We had so much fun learning about and experimenting with magnets.  We especially enjoyed searching  the classroom for things that would stick to different sized magnets.  There were a lot of things in our classroom that were attracted to our magnets.  However, we were especially surprised to see that not all of the metal objects were attracted to them.

In one of our science experiments, we hypothesized whether cereal pieces would move with strong magnets.  We couldn't believe that the magnets could actually move the Total cereal because of its high iron content.  Lastly, we have really enjoyed our hands-on exploration of magnets, metal and magnet blocks.  We have even become excellent builders of 3-D houses and other objects!
