Potato Races Commence!

This week in language arts, we read a story called, "Jamie O'Rourke and the Big Potato" by Tomie dePaola.  We dramatized the story as a class & had a lot of laughs doing it.  Then, we used our imaginations to decide what we would do if we found a big potato in our backyard.

To finish the week off right, we divided into teams and made our own ramps.  Next, each of us hypothesized whether "Potato #1" or "Potato #2" would win the most races.  Lastly, we took turns racing our potato races.  Some potatoes rolled farther and faster than others, but in the end, we decided that the process of rolling the potatoes was a fun science experiment.
