Rocking in Our School Shoes

During our first week together, we read the story called, Pete the Cat:  Rocking in My School Shoes by James Dean and Eric Litwin.  The story introduces the reader to the different rooms/places that can be found at school.  Then, Pete the Cat demonstrates something fun that can be done in each place...of course, while he is wearing his new school shoes!

Rebecca & I pointed out the some of the areas of the school that we have at OLES:  library, cafeteria, playground, etc.  Then, we made some art projects about the story and even sang the song version of the story together.  However, the preschoolers favorite activity was acting out parts of the story with our story props.  We may have some future pop stars in our future.  The microphone & the guitar were their favorite story props to use...of course, when acting out parts of the story in their school shoes!
